Imagine that the elephant is the seat of your emotional mind

Big, powerful and the driving force behind change

But also lazy and stubborn

The rider sits atop the elephant and is the seat of the rational mind

The rider can control the elephant

The rider is shown the direction
.
A clear plan is laid out and broken down

But ๐™ƒ๐™Š๐™’ do you motivate the elephant?

In my experience working with some of the UKs top execs and entrepreneurs, itโ€™s done in one of two ways

1. ๐™Ž๐™š๐™ฉ ๐™จ๐™ข๐™–๐™ก๐™ก ๐™ซ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ž๐™—๐™ก๐™š ๐™œ๐™ค๐™–๐™ก๐™จ

When you do this you start to get out of your own head and stop thinking you ๐˜พ๐˜ผ๐™‰โ€™๐™ achieve things and start believing that you ๐˜พ๐˜ผ๐™‰.
You break the habit of losing and start the habit of winning.

Select wins that have ๐™ˆ๐™€๐˜ผ๐™‰๐™„๐™‰๐™‚

Select wins that are within ๐™๐™€๐˜ผ๐˜พ๐™ƒ

Select wins that build ๐™ˆ๐™Š๐™ˆ๐™€๐™‰๐™๐™๐™ˆ

If you want to get up earlier in the mornings, then just go to bed 15 mins earlier for a week

And get up 15 mins earlier.

If 15 mins seems like a lot, try 5

If you didnโ€™t exercise at all last week

Just exercise once, for a short period of time
.
The elephant reacts well to achievement
.
And when you set small visible goals and shrink the change

How do you talk to yourself?

The best exercise plan or nutrition plan in the world wont do anything

If you donโ€™t believe that you can or will do it

Our brains and our abilities are like muscles

They can be strengthened with practice
.
Inspiration to change comes from our desire to live up to these identities that we create for ourself

If youโ€™re overweight
.
Lacking energy
.
And seem to always fail at the first hurdle
.
Then thatโ€™s your current identity
.
To shift it
.
You need to trust that you ๐˜พ๐˜ผ๐™‰ change
.
And repeatedly take small actions
.
That demonstrate that you WILL change
.
Ultimately the two points above all come down to belief
.
The Elephant needs to believe it is capable of conquering the change
.
I have a bigger vision for my people
.
My tribe
.
